“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights…” James 1:17
Hi there! I’m Kathryn Elizabeth Simpson, a photographer based in Florence, Mississippi. I’ve had a love for photography for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I spent countless hours by my mom’s side; she was a photographer too, and those moments sparked something in me. From holding reflectors to helping her frame the perfect shot, I fell in love with the art of capturing life’s beauty and emotion through a lens. She was, and continues to be, one of my greatest inspirations. My pride and joy are my fiancé, Michael, and our two dachshunds, Sadie and Dude. They keep life full of laughter, adventure, and plenty of photo opportunities! Photography, for me, is more than just images—it’s storytelling, memory keeping, and a way to honor the Creator who made all things beautiful. As a follower of Christ, I believe every good thing, including this passion of mine, comes from Him. My goal is to use my work to reflect His light and capture the joy, love, and connection He’s woven into our lives.
I’m so glad you’re here! I can’t wait to help you capture memories that last a lifetime.
FAQ
How many pictures will we receive?
You’ll receive every single image that turns out beautifully—no limits, no extra fees, no surprise charges. I believe every moment captured is part of your story, and you deserve to have them all!
What’s the best time of day to have a session?
The magic happens during golden hour—about 1–2 hours after sunrise or 1–2 hours before sunset. During this time, the light is soft, warm, and flattering, giving your photos that dreamy, glowing look.
How should we dress for our session?
Your outfits play a big role in how your photos turn out! Here are a few tips to help you look and feel your best:
Coordinate, don’t match – Choose colors that complement each other rather than everyone wearing the exact same outfit. Think soft neutrals, pastels, or tones that fit your chosen location.
Keep it timeless – Avoid overly trendy clothes or big logos—they can distract from your beautiful faces and emotions.
Texture & layers – Sweaters, scarves, denim, or simple jackets add depth and interest to photos.
Comfort is key – Make sure you can move, sit, or walk comfortably—your confidence shows in the pictures!
Plan for your location – Consider the scenery and weather. Flowing dresses work beautifully in fields or parks, while casual chic fits urban settings.
We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?
100% yes! You don’t need to be a model to have beautiful photos. I specialize in making you feel comfortable, natural, and confident in front of the camera. I’ll guide you through poses, prompts, and little moments that make your photos feel effortless and genuine.
